More than 20,000 people from nearly 115 countries gathered in the Eternal City this weekend to celebrate the Jubilee of Catechists, held from September 26 to 28.

Four representatives from the UK based charity “Life”, together with other pilgrims, flew from England to Italy and walked 69 miles (111km) to Saint Peter’s Square to raise funds for the charity.

The secretary-general of the Italian Bishops’ Conference (CEI, by its Italian acronym), Archbishop Giuseppe Baturi, has concluded a significant visit to the Holy Land, the CEI announced. The visit took place Sept. 27–30.

The Holy See’s secretary for relations with states, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, decried that attacks on Christians have intensified in recent years and accused the international community of “turning a blind eye.”

Late Tuesday, Pope Leo XIV answered several questions from journalists at Villa Barberini, the papal residence in Castel Gandolfo, where he addressed various issues.
